Here is the grass box

This box came with my Atco Standard 22 inch, but it doesn't fit. The rather battered and patched up box measures about 20 inches between the sides, so I'd guess it's for the 18 inch model. I'm considering cutting out the centre section metalwork and making up a wider piece to attach to the sides. But an easier option would be to find someone who could do a swop. Is anyone out there interested? I'm in Northamptonshire.

Atco standard boxes do not often come up, particularly the larger ones, I do have a 22" one, so if you needed precise measurements etc I could help, Not sure at this stage if I would let it go, my 22" standard is now on permanent display with no room for the box, will have to think on this. I have no need for an 18" box.

I will dig the box out & perhaps we can chat later.

Thanks very much, Clive. There's no hurry for a decision, I haven't got the machine running yet! It would be very useful to have the crucial dimensions. So far I'm assuming the bigger box is simply wider, but it could be bigger in all dimensions. I hope to hear from you later, cheers!

Dramatic update: the Atco is a runner! It cut a little strip of grass today. Thanks to the OLC I downloaded the operator's handbook and discovered the correct starting technique. Then it started. What joy. I'll be looking at modifying that grass box sooner rather than later.
