There is an internal gear inside the rear roller, this is driven by a smaller gear through the frame side, this smaller gear and/or the large gear are damaged. It also likely to stop driving before long.

It may just be wear in the roller and pinion bearings causing meshing issues but you should be aware that back when the Balmoral was introduced there was a meshing problem caused by chassis flexing which was addressed by the addition of a tie rod and two reinforcing plates. Hopefully your machine has either had the modifications or was built after they had been incorporated in to the new builds. The last service bulletin issued was, I believe, in 1996.

Definitely sounds as though there is a problem with the drive pinion, enough I would say to justify further investigation.

I can't  comment on parts availability in Belgium but there are companies offering parts via the internet here in the UK.
