I have a Ransomes Certes Mk6 14 inch with a worn 8 blade cylinder. I’m getting a new 10 blade made form Garfitts with the help of Richard Jones who I believe is a club member. I have supplied him with a detailed CAD drawing of my original. I have renewed the bearings RL5/NLJ5/8 but I can’t get hold of the felt washers which are now obsolete part number GSF 3571 FV. Can anyone tell if there is a replacement washer I could use?

Is the later auto-certes/marquis one still available ?

If it is, just get one and then split it in half, this is what we used to do.

I know the part number for the auto certes is GSF 3571 FZ which I suspect is obsolete also. After a bit of digging I have since found out that Garfitts do a replacement washer for the auto certes GF3571 hopefully this will fit.replacement

GSF3571FZ  is still available as a Ransomes part, in fact I've just ordered 6! . As Hortimech says,  they are the correct od and id but too thick so you just peel one apart to make two.

GSF3571FZ  Around £1.24 +vat each

Thanks for the info I had the GSF 3571 FV  ordered for over a week at Rickerby’s only to be told today that they were now obsolete. I will ring them tomorrow and order the new part number.

Should have said that I believe that under Ransomes' current part numbering system they are A650000192 but everyone that I deal with still uses the old GSF number!

Great thanks for that is there a new numbering system for Ransomes parts. Only I’m after new bearing caps for mine because the MK 12 Certes had 7/16 UNF adjusting bolts where as mine has 7/16 BSW, it’s a lot better with the finer adjustment. Tried the part number I had but obsolete.

Ransomes have been using the new numbering system for a long time but the old numbers are still recognised and convert automatically but if its obsolete its gone!
