Plastic plunger cork

I've not come across this sort before on a plastic tap, the cork is retained by a steel ring clip, if it is supposed to be serviceable, it's not easy to get the ring clip off the plastic mount without damage.

The fuel tap body and internal filter are quite good so I would rather keep it but it leeks and had a load of PTFE wrapped inside the body, the cork is 10mm long x 9.3mm current dia - which I guess should be 10mm dry and the internal hole is 3mm. I have searched about but can't find one to match. Anyone know where I can get a replacement cork for this?

The ewarts style jobbies tend to be shorter, but looks like I have found the right size corks on ebay

Never tried to re-cork a plastic tap. Once done what stops the plunger pulling all the way out when turning on?  Bought right, they’re so cheap I just sling the duff ones !

I'm not being a cheapskate - honest :-)

Its a bottom mounted one well secured and the internal filter is in good shape so I bought some new right size corks.

The top red arrow of the shaft is bulbed so the cork has to press over that which keeps it in place, the bottom yellow arrow has a protruding ring on the plunger which presses over a lip in the fuel tap body which stops it being pulled right out - unless you exert enough force to ride it over the lip to get it out on purpose, this I guess could wear down if pulled out enough times, but its holding fuel fine now!
