Ransomes Marquis 4a clutch cable

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

The clutch cable adjustment thread has fractured on my Marquis, and the spring on the clutch lever has broken, and although the clutch is still operational I would like to replace them both at the same time. I have a spare clutch lever and I note there has been a recent post regarding replacement of the spring which I will look up.

Is there a special technique for changing the cable and is it a fairly straightforward task?

Changing the cable is fairly straight forward, just a bit involved in that you have to totally remove the landroll clutch.

Splitting hairs, maybe, but not totally . Slackening it off is enough and keeps the landroll chain in place. The job is made easier if you have, or make, the correct tool to undo the clutch retaining collar. Also needed for chain adjustment.
