Hello

Looks to be a Webb De-luxe 2 speed, (NOT to be confused with the De-luxe from the late 1920's/30's)

I know your mower with cross handles was advertised in 1959, but assume yours has pram handles, & by any chance a Red grassbox??

Not sure when the handles changed but yours may possibly be later, but I'm not certain? Will let you know if I find out any more.

Regards

Clive

Many thanks for your thoughts. I can confirm the pram handles and red grass box. I would love to know more if it is possible. Many thanks to you both. Foxhunt

Hello Ray

It appeared to be aimed at the domestic market it gave 66 cuts per yard for a fine finish or adjusted to 44 cuts per yard for easier cutting of longer grass. It also had neutral, said to reduce damage to blades when moving the machine around I assume.

Note for Michael, I don't think it should have a 'Red' box!!!! Its just that I was watching it on ebay, assume the previous owner had painted it, would have been Green like the mower, just in case you think I'm psychic.

Excellent trap Clive. I walked into that one. No harm done though. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the interesting spec on the cutting speeds. I don't suppose there is a colour brochure or photo out there to try and reproduce the original colours. Many thanks for your thoughts
