Identification required
This mower has been languishing in our garage for several years. I can't find any maker's name or model number. The whole mower has been repainted.
The roller is aluminium and is split into two.
The only marks that I can find are cast into the blade bearing housings ("SR" and "3" on both housings) and also on the two grassbox lugs ("612" and "613" respectively).
The only other unusual feature seems to be the softwood transverse handle. I had a search around the net but couldn't see another.
Can anyone shed any light on the identity of this mower, please ?

From your description of the handle I also suspect that your mower could be Ransomes Certes.
Follow the link to a picture, unfortunately yours have failed to load.

I can't see your pictures but going off your description it sounds like a Ransomes maybe a certes.
