Lloyd's Pennsylvania New Era Roller Mower

After a long gestation period, my metal handled Pennsylvania roller mower is now up and running and cut grass for the first time today. Thanks are in order to Dusty from whom I bought the chassis some 6 months ago and to Richard Jones for providing me with a useful diagram of the somewhat unusual handle configuration for the steel handles on this version of the mower.

I will write up the restoration process properly shortly so won't go into too much detail here, suffice to say that it has been immensely satisfying to bring this rare 90 year old mower back to life, to use it and find that it is, even before sharpening and setting, still a hugely effective machine.

Hi,

You are justified in feeling satisfied with your project, we look forward to seeing the report and hopefully some photos of the machine.

Three small lawns mown to a good finish this afternoon while being followed by Small Boy with his toy mower (sadly not a Webb). It's very nice to be able to share the job & be outside with the kids while mowing, not something I'd be too happy about with the now (nearly) redundant Mountfield in use.

The Pennsylvania really is an exceptionally good piece of kit, so thanks again to Richard for helping me get it back into working order.
