Can anyone help me with details of this Ransomes mower

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

At the moment I am in the middle of a family members house clearence. I have come across an old Ransomes hand-push mower but having trouble finding much out about the model. (looks like it's the same mower as on the left in the pictures from the prize winning display at the Arlesford show on page five of the home page) The mower is of some age seems to have a 15" four blade and is wooden in the push bar and handle, cuts as like new and throws cuttings back towards you rather than forward into a grassbox and has a wooden rollerbar that sits behind the blades (see small pic in profile). Would supply other pics but can't seem to see anywhere to attach them! please help.

Agree that loading pics on to this forum is a bit of a faff but it does work - eventually!!

To id your Ransomes send a pic to the Hall Duck Trust and Andrew will tell you what it is.

Hello

From your description & the small image it looks to me like a Ransomes "Kutruf" which was only made in 15" size & had 4 blades. Was advertised as able to deal; with grass up to 7" long.

I have it listed in a 1932 catalogue.

If you want to e.mail you images I will put them on the site as I am sure there are others who would like to see them.

My e.mail clive@adurgardening.com

Hope that helps

Regards
