Box Or No Box

A thought just occurred to me whilst perusing photos of our AGM lawnmowers, that many of the mowers are displayed without grass boxes. A few reasons obviously spring to mind, rotten, broken, didn't come with the mower, never had one when made etc etc.

Personally, as I'm sure most would agree lawnmowers do look better without them. Only one springs to mind where the grass boxes enhance the look, and that's a nice chrome and black JP.

MK last year. Stunning

WOT No Grass Box, there would be nothing else worth reading!

Seriously though, you are right often missing, that said I am presently doing an audit of my boxes & have many without mowers!!, if I get time I will try to get them organised, photographed & listed in the spares section as I am sure there are mowers out there to match them,

I personally like to try and buy the mower with the grass box attached If at all possible though I do have two JPs without boxes.

Very cool looking JP by the way Lee.

If you let me know which model/size of JP's you have I will check if I have any boxes to fit.

Thanks Clive; I have two early JP cylinder mowers, an early pre war Maxees model and the rarer Major model with the serial number 71 stamped on it making it prewar too.  I will get the size of them both tomorrow.
