Hello Lee

A good swap, always liked the Anglias, probably as my first car was one in 1970!

My very first mower restoration was an Anglia 10in Mk1, the information I have states that the Anglia introduced in 1928 & they got through the first 4 marks by 1935 when the Mk5 was introduced & remained available until 1947, all models appear to have been made in 10,12 & 14in sizes.

Remember to check the blades for a date if you are stripping back.

A before & after below but you can see all the restoration images on this link, random order, looks like I was very organised back then, you can never have too many images when you are trying to put things back together, especially as you get older & memory recall is not so good!

I had a quick look at the back of each blade but couldn't pinpoint any dates as yet, I'm sure with a clean up it's there somewhere, are the little wooden front wheels standard? Apart from a bent wheel bracket it works really well,  I'll straighten the bracket carefully and probably give it a wipe over and that'll do for now. Cheers Clive.

Quite sure the small wooden wheels are NOT standard, bit of a diy job I think, as far as I know all Anglias would have had the standard wooden rollers on a steel shaft. as to the date usually on the underside of the blade as you look down from above, I can only find parts list for Mk5, same as available on this site, I feel I do have the others stored digitally, somewhere!!!

Found the parts list that covers Marks 1 to 4, interesting that it indicates that Mk 2 & 3 were only produced in 14" ??

Unable to confirm this from catalogues as don't have them for 1932 & 1933 when I assume the Mk 2 & 3 would have been made.

Perhaps anyone with a 2 or 3  in 10 or 12in could let us know, as happy for above to be challenged.

Thanks Clive, looking at the little wheels, although a DIY job,  they do look pretty convincing, cheers for info. Many many mowers to mess around with before dragging the Anglia home to work on. Do you still have the anzani looking for a new home? Bit on the large side being a 24 but always wanted one.
