Dynamow
I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply , as im guessing they dont really fall into the vintage category.
I purchased a Dynamow recently in good working order with all the panels present, i assumed that these where pretty rare, however ive seen at least 1 pop up on ebay every 3 months or so and a couple elsewhere.
Do any of youy own these machines, or know of anyone else that does? Just trying to work out how rare / common these things are. From the looks of it the body panels are the hard to come by part.
Or anyone know of a more fitting website i could look at to satisfy my Dynamow curiousity?

Interesting, it appears to be
Interesting, it appears to be a large walk-behind mower, without the handles and fitted with a very simplistic hydraulic system. The choice of hydraulic motor is worrying, those Danfoss units tended to fall in bits (Huxley used them on their gangs) and they weren't very powerful. I would also imagine that the speed control wouldn't be very precise, I have to wonder why some form of hydrostatic drive wasn't used ?
Hi,
Hi,
Youd be suprised, now its been in use for a bit the hydraulic drive is suprisingly responsive, it is a bit akward to keep it smooth on a bumpy lawn, but i can get it to crawl very smoothly at a snails pace and control the speed all the way to max. I only got it out of curiosity, as i have found out the things that people say about its 1 wheel drive flaws are 100% true!
Now youve made me think about it, your observation about it being kind of a walk behind mower really does make sense. Good spot. .

Evening, had one for a few years, only used once this year to play 'Dogems' with the grandchildren sitting on my lap, there is a video here taken a couple of years ago.
Great fun, but not much good for cutting grass unless the lawn is very is firm, dry & level !!!!
Perhaps if we can gather a few more say 5 we could put on a 'Red Dynamo's' display team!!!!!

When I had a mower business
When I had a mower business we sold a few Dynamow which seemed a good idea at the time but were not so good in practice. They were the brain child of one of the former founders of Mountfield and were built in Italy by the company behind the Harry brand of rotary mowers.
A Dynamow , described as being in working order, was sold at a collective machinery sale near Dover a couple of weeks ago, so there are still a few around. Somewhere I have a parts book and I will dig it out and scan it.
