I have a Qualcast motor mower with JAP engine, the fuel tank is alongside the Cyl Pot. Qualcast is stamped in casting and a number  CD5A are the only markings, can anyone tell me anything about it,  Age??  photo's by E/M if this will help.

Hello David and welcome to the Old Lawnmower Club,  It would be good if you can post a couple of photos here on the forum, there are some instructions in the forum guidelines section of this site to help guide you through the process.

I understand that Qualcast mowers are dificult to date with any accuracy but if we can identify the model it may be possible to say when it was in production. Also search all over the Jap engine for any serial number on that. It may be that there is information around to tell us when the engine was built which would be a help,  so long as the engine is original that is!
