Folbate J2 Sidewheel

I am  fairly new to the restoration side of mowers.Over the last year or so i have amassed 17 mowers ready to restore. The easiest one to start on looks to be the Folbate J2 Sidewheel.

Does anyone have,or knows of,a hubcap to fit the wheel.I have one missing and need to get cracking. It is approximately 82 mm across, red in colour with a double clip arrangement on the back.Any help much appreciated. Regards, JIM.

if you don't get any luck, please get in touch with the british lawnmower museum and speak to Brian, I'm sure he has a few of the folbates laying around as well as any parts. he can be reached on 01704 501336. say the blind lawnmower restorer sent you, then you're on your way.

I've a set of 2 folbates I'm about to fully restore, it's not the right time to start them as I've a few important matters to deal with, but they'll be done in the new year. so, all being well, fingers crossed, they'll be ready.

the J series from folbate are rather nice and easy to strip down. be aware that the support bars may be stiff. if they fail to free up so that you can remove the cylinder. introduce heat directly to the ends of the shafts to the joints so they're hot enough to tap out, that's if they don't tap out cold.

hope it goes well for you, would love to hear more about it.

no worries. glad to help where I can. I rely on Brian when it comes to specialist parts as well as acquisitions.

Sage advice also comes with parsley, rosemary and thyme lol I think Art Garfunkel would be proud of that lol.
