Atco Royale (2002 era) Paint Colour

I'm new here, so apologies as I suspect this has been asked before, but I'm restoring a Atco Royale 24 I/C that's probably been kept in a shed and the paint has started to peel off. I'm wondering if anyone knows what RAL colour, or BS4800/ BS381C colour that Atco used to use on their mowers? - I'm guessing Allett use the same colour on the later range of mowers nowadays.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have more questions coming. I have a Qualcast Commodore 14" that's in need of restoration from about ~1960s, so may be picking other people's brains some time soon, not least to know the colour code required to re-paint that!

Philip.

Hi Philip,

Hi Philip,

Regarding the Atco from 2002, I can't tell from experience, but I think it is the same as the Balmorals from the same year, and that colour green is close to RAL 6005. If you want to be sure then take a part of the mower that has not seen sunlight (underside of a cover) to a shop that have equipment to determent the exact mix of colours and is able to mix you a couple of spray cans with it.

Regards, Henno

Thank you for this. I suspect

Thank you for this. I suspect it probably is the same as the Balmorals. I also have one of those too from 1997 in very good condition! I have 3 x Atco Royals (2x 24" and 1 x 20" in nearly new condition and all with seats from 2002-2004). One of the 24" Royals needs a bit of a respray and before I go down the route of buying and testing paints, or getting parts grit blasted and powder coated.

Most powder coating companies will work to RAL/BS381C/BS4800 colours.

I'm also about to start with a Qualcast Commodore, so will be wondering what colours to use for that soon. I see some people have restored them already so I'll have a look what colours have been used.

Regards
