Welcome.

Probably a Tecumseh / Technamotor LAV35 or 40 or an LAVR35 or 40. It is a 4-stroke engine, that is plain petrol in the fuel tank and oil in the sump. You can see the oil dip stick just ahead of the fuel tank on the right hand side. The fuel tank cap is possibly not original, make sure that it has a vent hole to allow air in as the fuel flows out.

2 kw is aprox 2.7 mechanical HP but most older mower engines were governed to 3300 rpm and not 2000 so your engine is probably rated at around 3.5hp

It is an Aspera LAV35, the R in LAVR stood for: 'it has got a driveshaft stuck out of the sump to drive the propulsion on a self-propelled mower'

The Airshrouds etc changed when they came under the Technamotor banner

Thanks for info!

Are you 100% sure that is it Aspera LAVR35 ?

I believe that Hortimech is saying that it is NOT an LAVR35 because it lacks the driveshaft feature that the R signifies.
