Marquis for the folks

Thanks for the advice on hopefully my next mower (or the one I will keep at my parents to do their lawn) - a Marquis I hope.

My purchase budget is not great, circa £75 and I am looking at an 18" MK4 and a 20" MK5 on ebay.

I think the 18 I am looking at may go beyond my budget, the 20 I could probably get.

Is there any relative advantages or things to be aware of, of either model? I am not really concerned on the 2" size difference

Many thanks Chris

Yes, had come to that

Yes, had come to that conclusion after enlarging your image on the iPad . I’ve never seen an F12 with that carb and it also appears to have a crankcase breather exiting into the air filter. I guess that it must have been  a version very near the end of F12 production - do you have any further information ?

Got to say I'm a bit

Got to say I'm a bit disappointed Clive. Checked oil level, reassembled air filter, cleaned plug, fixed HT cap lead, bled through fresh fuel and it started 1st pull! :-)

There is still plenty to do - small mercies..

Can anyone point me to the correct operators manual and service manual for this model please? Just on first observation it does have differences to the Mark 4A which Clive kindly provided (carb, air filter, engine kill, front roller which is a big steel jobbie and maybe more)

Also could could do with both clutch and throttle cable replacements, any pointers on where to source these please?
