Good afternoon everyone, could someone guide me to information on checking a coil with a multi meter, also method of fitting an ignition module to said mower. Many thanks in anticipation.

Not a great fan of checking coils with a multi meter as a much more reliable test of both coils and condensers  is with a dedicated ignition tester. Also if your coil has an embedded condenser it makes checking difficult as they cannot be electrically separated to perform any test.

That said, if you have a separate coil it can, to some extent, be tested by checking the resistance of both the primary and secondary windings  - providing that you have either the "book" values or those of a "known good" coil to compare yours with.

An electronic module such as the Nova and Meco, can only to be used to replace the contact breaker points and condenser where the condenser is separate from the coil. It is then just a matter of connecting the low tension wire from the coil to the module. The Meco has a single terminal and is earthed through its fixing screw but the Nova has two terminals requires a short fly lead to earth.
