Qualcast Panther

I have a Panther with wooden handles rather than the black plastic/rubber ones.

Does anyone know when the change took place ?

I have ads/catalogues from 1939 & before that show the mower with wooden handles but are there any other features that can date a panther?

Also I am looking for a chain cover & a reasonable condition grassbox for this mower.
