On today's date in the past

Listening to BBC Radio Four at around 5.40 this morning, just before the farming programme I was reminded that today is a special day. As observed in my post this time last year, it could be considered the Birthday of the Lawnmower. Our Annual Rally and AGM this coming weekend is therefore well timed.

Thinking about it, mention earlier of Edwin Budding on the radio is very much a rarity so perhaps broadcasters are now waking up to appreciate this little known British genius; one of any number previously un-recognised.
