The clutch plates on my HY are so firmly stuck together that I doubt I could tell which side the friction material should be fixed to. I suspect I may have to resort to heat or a saw. The parts list lists the items but does not say how they go together. Does it matter which plate I attach the new material to? The parts list mentions Friction material with brass liner. Anyone know the purpose of the bass liner? Perhaps to centralise on the shaft or act as a compression stop.
As for what material I have a supply of rubber bonded cork which is usually used for gasket applications or anti-vibration pads. Alternatively, I could use high quality compressed fibre gasket material or rubber sheeting. The cork material would be my first guess. Duncan
