Shuttleworth Vintage Weekend
A few members gathered on behalf of the club to introduce 'Old Mowers' to an audience of aeroplane fanatics who gathered for a flying weekend, plus a display of many other vintage vehicles etc from the Shuttleworth collection.
A video of some working mowers here https://youtu.be/WzCZvwvz1jI
Other highlights Roger Wilkinson on his immaculate Dennis carving 'OLC' in the grass, video to come!!
Cider helps to get Dan's Ransomes Minor working, plus the expertise of 'Jones' the mobile mower mechanic.
The 'Cyclemaster Panther' remained static, but great to display & pay tribute to the test pilot from the 1930's who created this wonderful machine.
I'm sure others will have some more images to share.

Due to the current pandemic the organisers of the event had taken the precaution of not having a 'Beer Tent' & encouraged people to drink in the open air, with just 3 of the 10 of us having a fruit cider on a very hot day I don't think the public were in any way concerned. Tea & Coffee flowed continuously thanks to Roger & Helen.

As promised a video clip of Roger Wilkinson on his well known & fantastic 1935 Dennis 24in at the Shuttleworth Vintage Weekend.
At short notice we were asked to create a piece of 'Turf Art' to hopefully be photographed from one of the vintage planes, after rustling up some rope, pegs, tape measure etc we chose to publicise the club by cutting the initials 'OLC' around 20m high, bit of a rushed job but with Rogers experience with his Dennis it certainly looked good from the ground.
Not sure if an aerial shot was taken, will try to establish if it was.?
Hi folks.
Hi folks.
Travelled down to see what mowers had been taken along to the Shuttleworth Vintage Weekend by OLMC members. From what I remember seeing there were lovely examples of ATCO, Shanks's, Ransomes, Drummonds,Greens, Dennis mowers on display along with a Nash Boadicea. Great to see some of them in action. Good to see you again Clive and to meet up with you Sean. Hope to see you at Milton Keynes next month. Cheers. Rob
